It’s a traditional sweet produced in Corfu from the Venetian rule era. The name comes from the Italian word caramelized almond (Mandola) which means almond. Caramelized almonds are shaped like sugar almonds and they are baked and caramelized almonds, flavored with essential oils in various flavors. It is an excellent liqueur accompaniment and an excellent snack. They are also fantastic to decorate a dessert or a cake.
